Chicory is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the family Asteraceae. Its scientific name is Cichorium incubus and it is also known as Kasumi in India. Chicory root comes from a plant with bright blue flowers that belongs to the dandelion family. Chicory is commonly used to make a coffee alternative, as it has a similar taste and colour. Cinnamon comes from the bark of tropical, evergreen trees. In order to harvest cinnamon, it's peeled off of the inside of the bark of the tree.
