Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) is a microscopic green algae that grows in natural alkaline lakes, in a tropical and sub-tropical environment and is harvested sustainably in freshwater pools on an Island in the South China Sea. Spirulina was consumed as a food source hundreds of years ago. In more recent times, Spirulina was 're-discovered' in the 1960s. Spirulina contains more nutrients than almost any other food on the planet, and is an excellent source of chlorophyll, amino acids, fibre, proteins, vitamins and minerals, making it a modern day "superfood". Directions Mix 2-3 teaspoons (5-10g) daily into juice, shakes, smoothies, soup or yoghurt.
