Desmodium, Tick Clover (Desmodium Illinoense) is a flowering plant in the bean family (Fabaceae), native to the central United States and Ontario, Canada. Tick Clover grows in sunny places, such as prairies and oak savannas of the Great Plains and Great Lakes regions. Desmodium Illinoense is a perennial herb reaching a height of 1.2 m (4 feet). The leaves are trifoliate and grow up to 6.3 cm (2.5 inches) long. The leaflets are rounded with a blunt tip. The flowers are white to pink with a few white spots near the center.
