Horehound (Marrubium vulgare) is a perennial herb belonging to the Labretaceous family. The plant reaches a height of 60 cm. The stem is up straight, tetrahedral, hollow, and pubescent with pressed hairs. Top leaves are light green in color, wrinkled; below leaves have a grayish tint. Flowers are collected in multicolor false whorls; a cup with ten awl-shaped teeth, pubescent with serrated hairs; white whisk is with a cylindrical tube. The fruit of Horehound is four ovoid, spotty, shiny, finely tuberous nut of yellow-brown color. Period of flowering is June - August. Ripening of the fruit lasts from July to September.
