Gentian (Gentiana lutea) is widely distributed in the mountains of Asia Minor, Central and Southern Europe. Gentian is a perennial herbaceous plant with a height of 40 to 100-150 cm. The whole plant is bare. The stems are branchless, up straight, hollow. The leaves are opposite, petiolate, whole-edge, widely elliptic. The stem leaves are short-stemmed to both ends, narrowed, ovoid-elliptical, pointed, and smaller than basal. The flowers are bisexual, regular, large, numerous, collected in inflorescences. The cup is pale yellow; the corolla is bright golden yellow. The fruit of Gentiana lutea is a box on the leg, opening on the partitions. Gentian blooms in July, bears fruit in September.
