What the brand says

Sold as “Hawaii Pharm California Poppy and Hawthorn Liquid Extract, California Poppy (Eschscholzia Californica) and Hawthorn (Crataegus Laevigata) Tincture, Herbal Supplement, Made in USA, 32 fl.oz

This liquid extract made from the Certified California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) dried above-ground parts of the plant from France and Certified Hawthorn (Crataegus Laevigata) from Chile. California Poppy also known as Eschscholzia californica, Western Poppy, Poppy, and Gold Poppy. The California poppy is the state flower of California, a tender perennial plant bearing blue-green leaves and 2 to 4 inch (5 to 10 cm) wide flowers that open in bright sun and close on cloudy days and at night. The California poppy is considered an ancient plant whose origins are not entirely known. Native Americans in California prized them as a source of food and for the oil that could be extracted from the plant. California Poppy contains alkaloids, principally cryptopine. California poppy commonly combined with Hawthorn to enhance benefits of tincture. Hawthorn also known as Crataegus laevigata (Midland hawthorn), Crataegus monogyna (English hawthorn), Aubepine, Bianco Spino, Crataegi Fructus, Crataegus cuneata, Crataegus oxyacantha, Crataegus pinnatifida, English Hawthorn, Epine Blanche, Epine de Mai, Haagdorn, Hagedorn, Harthorne, Haw, Hawthrone, Hedgethorn, May, Maybush, Maythorn, Mehlbeebaum, Meidorn, Nan Shanzha, Oneseed Hawthorn, Shanzha, Weissdorn, Whitehorn. The folklore and legends surrounding the hawthorn tree is quite large, and goes back many centuries, especially in Europe and the British Isles. The most famous hawthorn in Britain is the Holy Thorn of Glastonbury, which grows at Glastonbury Tor, the supposed resting place of King Arthur. According to legend, the tree was grown after Joseph of Arimathea, upon arriving at Glastonbury Tor, thrust his staff into the ground, and from this the tree grew. Hawthorn has long been used as a food and medicine in Europe; particularly Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
