Bio psyllium seed husk from India + montmorillonite-bentonite from Europe in a certified pharmacy-quality prepared mixture Our bentonite is powdery-fine, white, natural active calcium-sodium-bentonite. An important quality is the extraordinarily high content of over 95% montmorillonite. The average grain size is around 16 µm. Laboratory tests confirm that despite this fineness it contains no nanoparticles. With its noxious substance binding properties, bentonite has strong similarities to zeolite. Bentonite can bind various toxins on its surface and in the spaces between layers. Its special characteristics are noticeable when stirring bentonite powder with water: a light, gel-like consistency forms, which in technical literature is called montmorillonite protective film and which is used, for example, for the protection of mucous membranes in the alimentary tract. Bentonite was especially known in Southern Germany and Austria after the radioactive fallout of Chernobyl. In 1986 the German and Austrian National Departments of Agriculture recommended and subsidized the use of bentonite as a feed additive for the prevention of a higher radioactive exposure through milk and meat from livestock. With bentonite the intake of radionuclides through animals can be reduced, the excretion through feces strengthened, and thus the cesium exposure from milk and meat be upheld according to the EU required limit standards. Psyllium is known for its high source of volume. Psyllium seed husk powder is made by grinding psyllium seed husk. Since psyllium seed husk powder gets the highest source of volume from being ground, it works more effectively than psyllium seed husk and psyllium seed. Our bio psyllium seed husk comes from controlled ecological agriculture, for which the use of chemical and synthetic dung and plant pesticides is prohibited.
