Each bag contains 4 oz of organic or wildcrafted milk thistle seed powder, grown and harvested in Croatia. It is the whole seed of Silybum marianum, milled into a powder. Also called cardo mariano in Spanish, and sometimes blessed milk thistle or Marian thistle. MILLED WHOLE SEED, NOT AN EXTRACT: this is the seed itself, ground. It is not a standardised extract, and the two are not interchangeable. Worth knowing before you buy. FOR TEA: add 1 teaspoon of milk thistle seed powder to 8 fl oz of boiling water. Steep for 5 to 10 minutes, longer if you like it stronger, then strain and enjoy. Because it is milled seed, a little sediment gets through a normal strainer.
