Hericium erinaceus (Bull.) Pers.) is a fungus of the genus Hericium in the family Odontodontidae. The fruiting body is medium, large or large, 3.5-10 (30) cm in diameter, fleshy, and shaped like a head or an egg, like the head of a monkey, hence the name "monkey head".
