What the brand says
Muira Puama is a small, tropical tree that grows under the canopy of the Brazilian rainforest, where the indigenous people refer to the plant as "potency wood." For centuries, South Americans have wild-harvested the fibrous root and thin bark of this shrub for use in various traditional beverages. Although Muira Puama can be used to prepare simple teas and infusions, it is most commonly tinctured. The native peoples of the Amazon who use muira puama combine it with catuaba, allowing the mixture to stand in warm water overnight to make an amber infusion. Cosmetic Usages - Decoct the bark for use as a face or body wash or to add to soaps and lotions. A strong infusion may also be added directly to the bath.
