1 pound bag, 454 grams, of 100 % Rehmannia Root. This herb is "Raw" as opposed to "Prepared". (Prepared means the root has been cooked or steamed in wine or soy liquid. The prepared rehmannia root is called Shu Di Huang.) The botanical name is Rehmannia Glutinosa; Radix. The Pin Yin name is Sheng Di Huang. The pieces are fairly evenly sliced slabs, dry, and nearly black. The root pieces have a size and texture very similar to bite sized beef jerky. This herb is known to clear heat and cool the blood.
