Gymnema Sylvestre is a woody climbing shrub that’s native to the tropical forests of India, Africa and Australia. Its leaves have been used in the ancient Indian medicinal practice Ayurveda for thousands of years. Noni, or Indian Mulberry, is a tropical fruit that is indigenous to the Pacific Islands of Southeast Asia. Derived from the Morinda citrifolia tree, this distinct yellow fruit bears a unique bitter taste and is a natural source of antioxidants. This tree and its fruit grow among lava flows in Southeast Asia, especially in Polynesia. It’s very bitter and has a distinct odor that is sometimes compared to stinky cheese. Polynesian peoples have used noni in traditional folk medicine for over 2,000 years. In Sanskrit, Triphala literally means three fruits. This name refers to its unique Ayurvedic formula which combines the goodness of Emblica Officinalis (Amalaki), Terminalia bellerica (Vibhitaki), and Terminalia chebula (Haritaki). We use powder of these fruits to create this herbal blend.
