Maitake (Grifola Frondosa) can be recognized by numerous fleshy, shapeless-wavy, small hats, wedge-shaped narrowed into a leg. The upper part of the legs and the lower side of the caps are covered with a spore-like shallow-tube layer; the color of the outer surface varies from gray-greenish to gray-pink tones. The mushroom hats are fleshy-leathery, have a rough, radially wrinkled surface and an uneven, wavy edge. Legs are branching, flat, merge into one base, when dried have grayish or cream color. Tubules located on the bottom surface of hats are short, 2-4 mm, downward.
