Cleavers (Galium aparine) is an annual herbaceous plant. The stems are tenacious, recumbent. The leaves are narrow-lanceolate, pointed, tenacious, narrowed to the base and have small hooked spines. The flowers are small, white, collected in axillary semi-umbrellas. The plant blooms in May - August. Fruits ripen in July - September.
