Agaricus Brasiliensis is an edible mushroom which was discovered in 1960 by a Japanese Researcher named Takatoshi Furumoto, in a small village called Piedade located in Sao Paolo, Brazil. While not traditionally used in Brazil, mushrooms are a huge part of the Japanese natural products industry. Takatoshi sent the mushroom to Japan for analysis and discovered that it has a higher degree of protein and carbohydrates than most other mushrooms. It has a low calorie content and high nutrient density containing minerals, fibers, vitamins and amino acids.
